• Micron rating - The micron rating determines how finely the element filters the fuel. A lower micron rating means it filters out smaller particles. You want a micron rating that matches the recommended spec for your excavator engine. Typically between 2 to 10 microns for most excavators.
• Element diameter and length - The element needs to be the correct diameter and length to fit into your excavator's filter housing. The sizes vary depending on the specific model.
